Charlotte JohnsonNursery practitioner
My name Is Charlotte, I am part of the Toddler team with Tan and Lyndsay and have been working at Little People since October 2017. I achieved my Level 3 in Children's Play, Learning and Development in May 2017, I went straight into Nursery nursing once I had gained my qualifications and haven't stopped since. Over time I have been able to complete courses to gain training in food hygiene, FGM and safeguarding. I am also Paediatric First Aid trained. I am excited to carry on working with the children and staff within Little People, gaining more experience and knowledge working with children.
Debbie MoranDeputy Nursery Manager Head of preschool SENCO
My name is Debbie and I have worked at Little people since 2002. I completed my BTEC National Diploma at college in 2000. I have gone on to gain my Foundation Degree in Early Years in 2014. I am currently doing a level 5 in Leadership and management. I have two boys of my own, Finlay and Zachary, they keep me very busy. I have completed further training on paediatric first aid and safeguarding. I have attended many training courses including letter and sounds, valuing superhero play, supporting speech and language, observation and assessment, planning and firm foundations. I am also the nursery SENCO, working with the children and staff to support their development. I work in the pre school room which I really enjoy. I like to teach the children new things, set up exciting activities and watching the children develop.
Donna WhitterNursery Manager
Hi, My name is Donna. I qualified as a Nursery Nurse in 1996. I did my NNEB at Wigan and Leigh college. I have continued to build on my professional development by achieving my level 4 in Child Care and Development in April 2008 and I am currently doing my level 5 in Management and Leadership that I hope to achieve this year. I have also done other qualifications along the way, such as Safeguarding, First aid ( which I retrain for every 3 years) ,Toddler talk, Health and Safety at work, Food hygiene, EYFS planning and Assessment and Development. I have managed Little people since 2002 and love working alongside the children and my work colleagues. My biggest achievement was in Febuary 2017 when we all achieved outstanding by ofsted. I was so proud of myself and my team mates.
Margret CoyleNursery Practitioner
My name is Margaret Coyle. I am from Ireland, I moved over to Wigan in October 2016, and have worked in Little people since November 2016, before working in Little people i worked in another nursery in Ireland for 1 an a half years. Since working in Little people I have gained experience in all the room, I currently work in the lower toddler room. I have qualified as a early years practitioner in 2015. I have my paediatric first aid certificate and I also have a certificate in food hygiene. I love watching children grown and learn and turn into lovely children.
Nikita ParkinsonNursery Practitioner
My name is Nikita Parkinson and I am currently a Level 3 Nursery Practitioner and achieved this in 2017. I am now doing my Level 4 and 5 Children, Young People and their Services course at Wigan and Leigh College and I hope to achieve my Level 4 and 5 in May 2019. I am also a Paediatric First aider. I am currently based in Preschool supporting children and getting them ready and prepared to start their new journey in school.
Nikki GaskellNursery practitioner
My name is Nikki and I have worked at Little people since January 2017, I am part of the pre school team. I completed my BTEC Diploma in 2011 and continued to do my level 3 in Children and young peoples workforce in 2014. I have my paediatric first aid certificate and I also completed an extra course in safeguarding and assessment. I have worked with children since leaving school in 2009, watching them learn and grow into smart young children leaving for school makes everything worth while.
Shannon mccormickNursery practitioner
My name is Shannon, and I have worked at Little People since November 2016. I am a apprentice and I am currently doing my level 3 at the moment which I am hoping to achieve next year. Recently I have achieved my level 2 in Early Years with the help of Learn direct and Little People. In the nursery I work between the 3 rooms and I have gained experience and knowledge of what each room gives. I have just recently got my Paediatric first aid certificate and the training was useful with the information I got given. Currently I am doing my level 3 qualification with a company called Busy Bee's and they have explained that I can do courses whilst doing my qualification which will be good so I can gain the experince and knowledge. I am enjoying doing my training and getting the experience with Little People and I couldn't ask for a better team.
Susan BoothNursery practitioner
My name is Susan Booth, I have been at Little People since I qualified for CACHE level 3 in childcare, from collage which will be coming up to 14 years. At Little people I have gained in confidence and with this I have undertaken many roles from being a student, a nursery officer to a head of room, this would not been able to be achieved without all the support and guidance that I have been given from my managers and my team mates. At little people I have gained qualifications in first aid, health and safety, safe guarding and I have had the opportunity to extend my learning to a level 4 through the open university. I am currently working in the baby room which I am really enjoying, During my time at Little People I have had the pleasure to work in each area of the nursery and I have thoroughly enjoyed my time with all the children.
